Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking Transportation Technicians/Construction Inspectors for CEI projects in North Carolina, including Asheville and surrounding areas. Roles require NCDOT certifications and experience in CEI services.

Responsibilities include daily observation, material review, and reporting under supervision. Ideal candidates hold a HS diploma or higher, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and OSHA 10 within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required or equivalent.
• Roadway and bridge inspection experience is required.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• OSHA 10 within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily observation of construction activities and document activities on required reports/forms.
• Review construction materials for contract and specification compliance.
• Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Evaluate structural materials, placement of culverts, and structural operations such as foundation excavation.
• Monitor placement of pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete, and backfill.
• Verifies lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using survey and field engineering equipment.
• Perform accurate calculations and computations.
• Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the project specifications.
• Review contractor submittals for conformance to project documents and specifications.
• Document and immediately report any non-compliance actions and safety violations to your immediate supervisor.
• Recording Daily Work Reports to include quantities and an objective description of the work shift activities.
