The role ensures work aligns with plans, specs, and safety standards, collaborating with engineers, contractors and stakeholders to serve Texas travelers.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work onsite.

Qualifications

• High school grad required; substitutions for education possible with related training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle.
• Knowledge of plans, specifications, estimates, and inspection requirements.
• Ability to document work progress and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadways, bridges, traffic signals and related structures per plans and specs.
• Calculate payments due to contractors for completed work.
• Monitor phasing and traffic control plans and ensure safety standards compliance.
• Observe ongoing construction work and maintain thorough project records.
• Prepare monthly and final estimates and support plan development data collection.
