Job summary

The SSP Incident Response Technician in Gary, Indiana, serves on the Hoosier Helper Safety Service Patrol to respond to freeway incidents, assist motorists, and keep traffic moving on urban interstates.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Move up to 50 pounds and endure various weather conditions.
• Basic automobile mechanical skills and first aid knowledge.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Respond to freeway incidents and assist disabled motorists.
• Maintain safe traffic flow on urban interstates.
• Remove debris and perform basic roadside repairs such as tire changes and jump starts.
