Job summary

State of Indiana's INDOT LaGrange Unit is hiring a Highway Technician. You will maintain Indiana highways, perform debris cleanup, pothole filling, drainage work, and assist with traffic control.

This is an entry-level role with overtime during emergencies. A CDL is required or must be obtained within 90 days; positions may include CDL bonus; daily rate starts at $20 per hour, with a $1 per hour premium for CDL holders.

Qualifications

• CDL or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
• Pass a drug test.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Work outdoors in varying weather.
• Operate basic highway maintenance equipment.
• Follow directions and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance, clean highways and rights-of-way.
• Fill potholes and maintain drainage.
• Assist with traffic control during incidents.
• Respond to winter operations and snow removal.
• Inspect and perform routine equipment maintenance.
