Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a diesel technician/roadside mechanic in Houston, TX. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing tractor-trailer maintenance issues on the roadside, in all weather, following safety practices.

The position requires experience with tractor trailer maintenance, tool proficiency, and the ability to drive Penske Road Assist vehicles. The 3rd shift pays $26.25-$32.79 per hour DOE with shift premiums.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of tractor trailer maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred.
• Willing to drive Penske Road Assist vehicle.
• DOT/OSHA safety compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to road assist calls and identify parts and warrantable repairs.
• Diagnose and perform non-road assist repairs as needed.
• Restock road assist vehicle with tools, parts, tires, and supplies.
• Perform maintenance on road assist vehicle as required.
• Assist in in-shop repairs when not on calls.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
