Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking interns for the Roads and Highways practice to join our Transportation team for Summer 2027 in multiple locations.

The successful candidate will perform independent engineering calculations and develop construction drawings for freeway, highway, and local road projects, including ADA improvements and traffic signaling work. Ideal applicants are pursuing an undergraduate Civil Engineering degree with ABET accreditation, have 2+ years of coursework, and

Qualifications

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2+ years of ABET coursework.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
Strong communication and teamwork skills; willingness to ask questions.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and design of roadway and transportation projects.
Support engineering calculations, plan prep, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
Develop and modify plans using design software (OpenRoads, AutoCAD/Civil 3D).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in meetings and site visits.
