Job summary

Monroe County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a skilled worker to repair and maintain county roads, bridges, and rights-of-way using a variety of heavy equipment. Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or GED and 3+ years of related work experience.
• Must hold a valid Florida CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement and TTC/IMOT within 6 months.
• Safety-sensitive position with random DOT drug testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in road and bridge repairs and shoulder work using equipment and materials.
• Operate or assist with heavy machinery; perform maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Drive county vehicles and transport equipment; maintain safety protocols.
• Support Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) in work zones and create signage as required.
• Complete daily paperwork and ensure tools and area remain organized.
