Job summary

Miami County seeks a dependable worker to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of county roadways and bridge systems. You will operate light to medium equipment as part of a crew or independently as needed.

This role requires a valid Ohio Class A CDL, ability to pass a medical exam and drug testing, and the capacity to perform physically demanding tasks in varying conditions. Regular attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Must pass a medical exam to meet physical qualifications per 49 CFR 391.41, Subpart E.
• Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing required.

Responsibilities

• Move material and equipment using light to medium trucks.
• Snow and ice removal on public roadways.
• Concrete work: forming, placing and finishing.
• Fabricate reinforcing steel cages.
• Patch cracks and holes; landscaping; install drainage pipes; guardrail.
• Operate and maintain equipment; traffic control; complete daily reports.
• Subject to emergency call out; maintain attendance.
