Job summary

Hernando County BOCC is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform semi-skilled manual road maintenance and related tasks. The role involves operating light and heavy equipment, digging, mowing, trimming, loading debris, and assisting in right-of-way projects in a public works setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of manual labor experience in road maintenance or construction, plus a valid Florida Class E driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manual labor related to road maintenance or construction.

Responsibilities

• Repairs holes in paved or unpaved roads with asphalt or lime rock.
• Install road signs.
• Clear vegetation within County Right-Of-Way.
• Jackhammer concrete and asphalt and load debris on trucks.
• May perform on-call duties for emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
