Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
  • 2–3 years transit supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate job requirements to drivers.
  • Day‑to‑day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports.
  • Conduct on‑scene accident investigations; assist with reports.
  • Develop and host driver training and safety courses.
  • Observe drivers on the road and document safety violations.
  • Coordinate with customers, drivers, and management on service issues.
  • Monitor driver safety and performance per policy.
  • Document absences and update databases.
  • Work with dispatchers and maintenance to ensure service quality.
  • Ensure drivers arrive on time by reviewing check‑in displays.
  • Drive routes periodically and perform other duties.

Transdev in El Cajon, CA is hiring a Road Supervisor / Window Dispatcher. This role ensures all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures and is customer service‑oriented with a focus on safety.

Salary and Benefits
  • $27.33 – $30.59 (Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay scale; starting $27.33, progressing to $30.59 over 3 years)
  • Vacation: 40 hours first year, 80 hours 2 years
  • Paid Sick Leave: 48 hours
  • Holidays: 7 days
  • Full‑time employees receive medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days, life insurance, 401k, and company holidays.
Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Day‑to‑day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
  • Conduct on‑scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports, and safety violation documents.
  • Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents.
  • Observe drivers on the road, correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
  • Liaison between drivers, customers and organization for customer service concerns.
  • Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters.
  • Receive lost & found items.
  • Document bus driver absences and enter information into computer databases.
  • Work effectively with fellow window dispatchers, road supervisors and bus operators to attain the best service product possible.
  • Ensure drivers arrive on time by reviewing driver check‑in VDS display monitor.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for equipment availability, assign equipment to drivers.
  • Drive routes periodically.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver’s license.
  • Age 21 or older.
  • Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2‑3 years transit supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer literate – basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 C.F.R. Part 40 prohibits use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Must work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Must sit, type, or look at computer screens for long periods.
  • Work environment includes both indoors and outdoors.
