Responsibilities

  • Manages driver inquiries and problems as they relate to breakdown time.
  • Prioritizes and schedules repairs according to urgency. Approves and authorizes repairs and negotiates repair cost payments.
  • Analyzes all known information on specific breakdowns and formulates a repair plan, which includes a repair either on the road or at the nearest TMC facility.
  • Establishes appropriate service providers. Contacts service providers to verify location, type of service provided, service hours, parts and service availability, and costs.
  • Directs and informs drivers of type of repair needed and location of service provider.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, Fleet Managers, and other internal personnel regarding company policies, delay and breakdown updates, and possible complaints.
  • Responsible for entering and updating all breakdown notes and related data into computer database and company intranet.
  • Responsible for records of breakdowns, repairs, costs, and any other applicable information about service providers.
  • Utilize web-based technology to locate repair facilities.
  • Evaluates invoices for appropriateness of all charges and issues payment to vendors.
  • Verify maintenance records pertaining to unit repair history.
  • Promote safety throughout all areas of operations.
  • Ensure the awareness of and enforce company policies.
  • Participate in total quality management and process improvement teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
