Job summary

Crete Carrier Corporation is seeking a breakdown support associate in Lincoln, NE. You will assist drivers with technical questions related to breakdowns or equipment damage, triage repairs to minimize downtime, and coordinate with maintenance facilities to ensure safe and timely resolutions.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work with multiple computer systems, and the capacity to independently assess complex situations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Communicates with all necessary parties to resolve breakdown issues, ensuring drivers' safety.
• Assists drivers over the phone and via other communication devices with technical questions on breakdowns or equipment damage.
• Triages to avoid costly repairs and downtime; investigates historical repair records to identify trends.
• Determines steps to safely remove driver and equipment from the road when necessary.
• Examines locations of maintenance facilities to identify best solution for a breakdown event.
• Communicates breakdown information with other departments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Obtains estimates, provides repair approvals, and updates repair statuses.
• Issues repair authorizations to vendors as needed.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists drivers over the phone and via other communication devices with technical questions pertaining to the breakdown or
  damage of equipment. Properly triage to avoid costly and unnecessary repairs and downtime.
• Investigates historical repair records to identify trends
• Determines the appropriate steps to ensure both the driver and equipment are safely removed from the road, if necessary.
• Examines locations of maintenance facilities to determine the best solution for a breakdown event.
• Communicates necessary breakdown information with other departments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Obtains estimates, provides appropriate repair approvals, and updates repair statuses.
• Issues repair authorizations to vendors as needed.
• Receives and carries out instructions.
• Manages regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
