Job summary

First Student is seeking a Road Supervisor to support daily operations, coaching drivers and dispatchers, and ensuring safe, efficient service. This hourly role contributes to reliable transportation for communities we serve.

You will monitor routes, prepare reports, assist with dispatching, and help recruit drivers. English proficiency and a valid Class B CDL are required, with strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class B CDL.
• 1–3 years of transit or related transportation experience.
• 2–3 years of driving experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, passengers, and team members.
• Comfortable using two‑way radios and PA systems.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coach, counsel, and train drivers and dispatchers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Monitor route performance, on-time departures, service quality, and incidents.
• Ensure drivers follow company policies, safety procedures, and job requirements.
• Prepare operational reports, schedules, and accurate daily records.
• Assist with dispatching and daily operational needs.
• Respond to customer comments and help resolve service concerns.
• Conduct road checks and assist with routing, training, payroll, and administrative tasks as needed.
• Reconcile daily deposits and maintain accurate operational records.
• Assist with driver recruitment and hiring in accordance with company standards.
