Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals seeks a Road Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet, including aerial platforms, pumps, and HVAC-related gear. You’ll diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work across remote locations while prioritizing safety and reliability.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of diesel/heavy equipment experience, and a valid license (CDL may be required in some locations).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some trade training desirable.
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment or heavy construction equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required in some locations.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Bilingual abilities may be required based on location.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and repair equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
• Work on a variety of makes and equipment in diverse field locations.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
