Qualifications

• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as an automotive mechanic servicing gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles or equipment.
• Substitution: Vocational school program in the area of assignment may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Fix trucks, snow plows, and other road equipment.
• Check engines, brakes, tires, and lights.
• Change oil, filters, and parts.
• Find out what is wrong and fix it.
• Keep the shop and your tools clean and safe.
• Write down the work you do.
• Help in bad weather, like snow and ice, when needed.
