Job summary

The West Virginia Division of Highways is seeking a Transportation Worker 3 Mechanic for the District 8 Equipment Shop in Elkins, WV. This journey-level role fixes diesel and gasoline engines, performs major overhauls, and conducts complex hydraulic repairs.

You will fabricate parts from blueprints, weld highway equipment with certification, and maintain logs and inventory. A valid driver's license is required at hire, with CDL within six months.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing mechanical problems and selecting repair procedures.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
• Ability to read operation manuals, blueprints and specifications.
• Welding with appropriate certification and fabrication from blueprints.
