Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro in Indiana is seeking a professional truck driver to operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and verify documentation to ensure safe, on-time deliveries across service centers and turn-point locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles/triples where applicable.

• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays.
• Load/unload freight and assist with tire chaining as needed.
• Possible duties of city driver or dock employee as needed.
• Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.

Job description

Position Overview:

Responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies, and verify documentation.
• Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate any delays or issues.
• Load and unload freight as needed and perform chaining of tires if required.
• Possibly perform duties of city driver or dock employee operationally necessary.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.
• At least 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ability to handle trailer hookups, lift approximately 100 pounds, and work independently or in a team.
• Good communication skills and physical ability to sit, bend, squat, and climb in/out of trucks.

Working Conditions

Long-distance driving in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and DOT-shipped hazardous materials. Overnight stays and variable hours may be required.
