Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety inspections of the tractor-trailer and trailers.
• Hook/unhook trailers and verify documentation before and after trips.
• Maintain logs and comply with DOT regulations and hazardous materials rules.
• Load/unload freight if required and assist with chaining when necessary.
• Coordinate with dispatch and communicate clearly to ensure on-time deliveries.

Role Overview

This position involves operating tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations. Key responsibilities include performing daily safety inspections, hooking/unhooking trailers, verifying documentation, maintaining logs, and complying with hazardous material regulations. The role may require loading/unloading freight, performing chaining, and potentially acting as a city driver or dock employee when necessary. Qualifications & Skills

• Valid Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements (automatic transmission allowed).
• At least 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ability to handle trailer hooking/unhooking, lift approximately 100 pounds, and work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and motivation.
