Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro seeks an experienced tractor-trailer driver to haul trailers between service centers and turn-point locations, including doubles and triples where applicable. You’ll perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and ensure compliance with hazmat regulations.

The role requires a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements, plus 1 year of driving experience or completion of a driver development program.

Qualifications

• One year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development program
• Valid MVR, DOT compliance, ability to operate long combination vehicles in specified states
• Strong communication, physical ability for trailer hookups, capacity to sit for extended periods
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, follow instructions

Position Overview:

This role involves picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable.

Responsibilities:

• Operate tractor-trailer rigs safely, perform daily pre-trip inspections, and hook/unhook trailers and dollies.


• Verify documentation, maintain accurate logs, and ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations.


• Follow dispatch instructions, communicate delays or issues, and perform job duties of city drivers or dock employees when necessary.


• Load/unload freight and adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.


• May be required to perform tire chaining and other operational tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.


• At least one year of recent driving experience or successful completion of a driver development course.


• Valid Motor Vehicle Record, DOT compliance, and ability to operate long combination vehicles in specified states.


• Strong communication skills, physical ability to handle trailer hookups, and capacity to sit for extended periods.


• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, and follow instructions.

Working Conditions:

Drive long distances in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and DOT-regulated hazardous materials. Overnight stays and variable hours may be required.
