Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced tractor-trailer driver to move trailers between service centers and turn-point locations. You will operate diesel tractors, including doubles and triples, and conduct thorough pre-trip inspections.

The role requires a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements, plus at least 1 year of experience or completion of a driver development course.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements.
• 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• MVR acceptable and compliant with DOT regulations.
• Ability to perform trailer hooking with physical effort and sit for extended periods.
• Follow instructions and maintain safety and logs.

Position Overview:

Responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook and unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify documentation, complete reports, and maintain accurate logs.
• Follow hazardous material regulations and dispatch instructions.
• May perform chaining, loading, unloading, and duties of city drivers or dock employees as needed.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• At least 1 year of recent experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ability to handle trailer hooking with significant physical effort, sit for extended periods, and follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Working Conditions:

Driving long distances in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and potentially hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required, with hours varying based on operational needs.
