Job summary

Carver County is seeking a Highway Maintenance Operator to perform skilled to manual labor on county highways, bridges and facilities. The role involves outdoor work in all weather, weekend or night shifts as needed, and may include 24/7 call-outs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a valid Class B CDL with airbrake; driving record acceptable; must obtain Class A CDL and tanker endorsement within probation.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates light and heavy equipment for highway/bridge maintenance.
• Perform related skilled, semi-skilled and manual labor on parks, buildings, and drainage systems.
• Assist in sign making operations and repair of signs.
• Respond to call-out assignments as needed.
• Conduct truck safety inspections as required by law.
• Maintain equipment and utilize Cartegraph, Outlook, and MS Word as needed.
