Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a nurse supervisor who provides point-of-care leadership and ensures high-quality patient care within a unit. You will coordinate nursing interventions, supervise licensed nurses and technicians, and promote evidence-based practices in collaboration with unit leadership.

Required RN license in the state of practice with a BSN; magnet facilities prefer a BSN. 1 year RN experience or 2 years LPN in acute care is preferred, with BLS certification and strong leadership

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice.
• BSN is required for Magnet Facilities.
• 1 year RN experience or 2 years LPN in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications, starts IVs, and discharges patients with the care team.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned nursing staff and technicians.
• Promotes nursing protocols and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
• Manages shift conflicts and collaborates with leadership for further actions.
• Supports patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives with leadership.
• Ensures staffing, scheduling, and supplies meet patient care needs.
• Adapts communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
