Arbors at Sylvania is seeking a Unit Manager Registered Nurse (RN) to direct the operation of a nursing unit within a long-term care facility in Ohio. You will lead staff, ensure high-quality resident care, and collaborate with physicians and management to optimize outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure, nursing degree, and several years of experience in nursing with LTC exposure. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) (state requirements).
• CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs General Management Functions such as hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees.
• Plans and facilitates meetings and committees to address resident care issues for the unit.
• Manages area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.
• Participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of nursing staff.
• Contacts physicians as necessary and ensures physician interventions are timely and appropriate.
• Reviews staffing patterns and census of nursing units and reassigns personnel to meet resident needs and budgetary controls.
• Monitors clinical operations of the unit and residents' conditions and ensures care is administered.
• Obtains medications, supplies and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient care.
• Assists in orientation of new personnel, monitors their skills and guides staff needing help.
• Participates in facility QA program.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
