Job summary

The Laurels of Dekalb is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead and teach nursing staff in a skilled nursing setting. You will oversee nursing care, plan education for team members, and ensure high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include supervising RN/LPN/CNA staff, reviewing procedures, and contributing to care plans while evaluating patient responses and medication administration. A leadership background in long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN leadership experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in a nursing specialty desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RN, LPN, CNA and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which support quality guest care and staff performance.
• Uses a systematic nursing process to provide individualized care.
• Contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and develops and implements a plan of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands the rationale for medications and treatments and administers as needed.
