Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute settings.
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred.
• Working knowledge of nursing practice, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RN, LPN and CNAs/STNAs.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Interviews, hires and trains staff; plans and directs workflow.
• Prepares work assignments with resident safety and staff capabilities in mind.
• Receives calls and finds replacements for absent staff; transfers staff as needed.
• Prepares evaluations; manages performance and wage considerations.
• Schedules breaks; handles complaints; monitors nurse rotations and performance.
• Disciplinary actions up to discharge as needed.
