Job summary

Gretna Health & Rehabilitation Center in Gretna, VA is seeking a Unit Manager (RN) to oversee clinical operations of the unit, supervise nurses and CNAs, and interface with physicians for high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate holds an active Virginia RN license, 3–5 years RN experience (LTC preferred), and BSN is a plus. Strong regulatory knowledge and management experience are valued. Typical hours are Mon–Fri with some weekend/on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia RN (or LPN) license to practice.
• 3–5 years RN experience, LTC preferred.
• Knowledge of federal/state LTC regulations.
• Nursing management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical operations of the unit.
• Supervise nurses and CNAs and coordinate with physicians.
• Handle QI reporting and follow-up.
• Provide clinical expertise to staff as needed.
• Manage care for acutely ill residents; day shift with some weekend/on-call.

Job description

Gretna Health & Rehabilitation Center has an exciting opportunity for a Unit Manager, RN in our 90 bed skilled rehab center in Gretna.

The Unit Manager will oversee clinical operations of the unit and is responsible for staff supervision of nurses and CNAs, as well as interfacing with physicians, QI reporting and follow-up, and providing clinical expertise to staff as needed. This unit provides care for our most clinically acute patients and residents. Typical hours are Monday through Friday day shift, with some weekend and on-call duties.

Requirements

• Current license by the Virginia Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse/ LPN.
• Minimum three to five years of experience as an RN, preferably in long term care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to long term care.
• Nursing Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
