Responsibilities

• Answers phone calls from patients and home health agencies using nursing assessment skills.
• Consults with Head Nurse/physician to resolve patient problems or direct calls.
• Pulls patient charts to accompany messages for nurses/doctors.
• Discusses steps with physicians for proper patient care and abnormal labs.
• Handles hospice/home health agency questions and documents physician decisions.
• Directs to ER with explanation, diagnosis, and contact information; processes prescriptions.
