Job summary

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required.
• RN license in state of employment.
• Current CPR and BLS certifications.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls regarding patients and consults with Head Nurse/physician to resolve issues or direct calls appropriately.
• Keep daily log of incoming calls and chart decisions.
• Pull patient charts to accompany messages for nurses/doctors.
• Discuss steps to ensure proper patient care with physicians/nurse practitioners.
• Handle hospice and home health agency questions and document physician decisions.
• Contact emergency room with explanations, diagnosis, and physician contact info when needed.
• Process prescription refill requests per company procedures.
• May work at multiple company locations and overtime as needed.
