Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse for remote oncology call center triage. You will assess and triage telephone inquiries, coordinate nursing care, and document in the EMR to support patient management and post‑discharge follow‑up.

Ideal candidates have an Ohio RN license, oncology experience, and prefer OCN certification; strong computer and communication skills are essential. Occasional onsite shifts may be required; weekend/holiday hours apply.

Qualifications

Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN‑accredited program.
Current Ohio license or interim permit; 2 years of relevant care setting preferred.
On-going: Maintains current Ohio RN license; demonstrates computer skills.
Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred.
Experience in telephone assessment and management – preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary responder to manage telephone calls within the defined scope of practice; conduct initial call assessment and triage.
Document the assessment and management in the EMR.
Follow up and assist in resolving post‑discharge or post‑procedure calls that require intervention.
Serve as clinical resource for James scheduling staff for referrals.
Remote phone triage role servicing all oncology patients; on‑site shifts may be required.
