Job summary

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in Florida seeks an experienced RN Trauma OR to influence patient care through collaboration with managers and nursing leadership. You will participate in perioperative education, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives to elevate outcomes.

You will evaluate patients preoperatively, prepare for surgery, and guide families through the perioperative process, working with a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a high-volume OR.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while following evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
