Job summary

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in South Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for the OR to support surgery teams and patient care before, during, and after procedures.

The role emphasizes patient education, adherence to safety protocols, teamwork with surgeons and technicians, and continuous improvement in perioperative care. A valid RN license with ACLS/BLS/PALS within the specified timelines is required.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required within 30 days of start date.
• PALS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) within 6 months of start date.
• RN license and Associate Degree are required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers and staff.
• Document changes in patient condition and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
