Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Transfer Center Bed Flow Coordinator role. This full-time night shift position (36 hours per week) focuses on coordinating patient transfers and capacity management to ensure timely placements.

You will assess needs, collaborate with ICU/ED and other teams, and document care plans while maintaining high standards of nursing care across patient populations. RN license and 2 years acute care experience required.

Qualifications

• RN license and active registration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
• Experience in ICU, ED or Transfer Center preferred
• Ability to multitask, type with reasonable speed, and take accurate notes

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate care plans for specified patient populations
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to facilitate timely patient placement and/or transfer
• Coordinate and communicate capacity management plan to nursing units, leadership and physicians
