Job summary

Misericordia Heart of Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse Trainer to lead as primary nurse for a designated area, oversee residents' medical needs, and train staff in medication administration and policy compliance.

Under RN Trainer Certification, you will coordinate care, maintain EMR accuracy, participate in RN Trainer meetings, and help ensure Rule 116 compliance while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care for residents with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Willingness to complete RN Trainer Certification within 3 months of hire.
• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary care nurse for a designated area and/or caseload, assessing and responding to emergencies.
• Lead the medication program and ensure accurate administration by certifi ed staff.
• Train and certify staff as med passers in accordance with Rule 116.
• Maintain EMR accuracy and ensure confidentiality across caseloads.
• Attend RN Trainer meetings and contribute to ongoing education for staff.
