Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS or NIH certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 months nursing experience or active Nurse Residency participation.
• Medical/Surgical, Telemetry and Oncology experience preferred.
• BSN in progress or willing to obtain within 3 years of hire.
• Willing to attend classroom and clinical training to become chemotherapy competent within 6 months.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing needs, and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and other health care team members about patient status and treatment plans.
• Medication administration utilizing bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery.
• Ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation of assessments, plans of care, interventions and evaluations.
• Patient and family-centered education to optimize health, wellness and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
