Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The RN will deliver evidence-based nursing care, communicate with the care team, and document care using advanced technology.

Requirements include a current New Jersey nursing license, BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, telemetry and IV certification, PACU experience preferred, and BSN in progress or willingness to obtain within three years. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required.
• AHA BLS/CPR certification required.
• ACLS required.
• PALS required.
• NIH certification required.
• Telemetry certification required.
• IV certification with adult experience required.
• PACU weekend rotation required.
• Recent critical care unit nursing experience required.
• 6 months PACU experience preferred.
• Preoperative nursing experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• BSN in progress or willingness to obtain within three years of hire.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and accountability for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to the most up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide safe and excellent patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and other health care team regarding patient status, care and plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safe delivery.
• Ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation of assessments, plan of care, interventions and evaluation.
• Patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transition and continuum of care.
