Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for the 2 North unit to plan and deliver professional nursing care on an 18-bed Medical/Telemetry and Behavioral Health unit. You will assess patients, implement and evaluate care, and may assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

The role requires an RN license in North Carolina (or compact state), an associate’s degree in nursing (bachelor’s preferred), and 1+ year of med-surg/critical care/behavioral health

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as an RN or compact state license.
• 1+ year of experience in medical-surgical, critical care, behavioral health nursing or related.
• Strong empathy, attention to detail and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient and identifies care needs.
• Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Administers medications as ordered by physician.
• Recognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriately.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with health system and medical staff.
