Job summary

Helia Healthcare in Belleville, IL is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide hands-on clinical care while guiding LPNs and CNAs.

You will deliver meds, assess residents, develop care plans, document accurately, and advocate for residents' comfort. You’ll also coach staff, ensure safety, and participate in shift handoffs.

A valid Illinois RN license and experience in long-term or geriatric care are preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Illinois RN license required.
• Experience in long-term care, acute care, or geriatric nursing preferred.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.
• No disqualifying criminal offenses (per regulatory guidelines).
• Ability to read and interpret journals, policies, and regulations.
• Ability to write nursing notes, reports, and procedures clearly.
• Ability to confidently interact with leadership, residents, families, physicians, and the public.
• Continuing Education
• Attend in-services and educational programs to maintain licensure.
• Join seminars that help stay current with nursing practice.
• Complete Silver Chair in-services on time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide LPNs and CNAs with confidence and kindness.
• Ensure resident care is delivered according to top-notch standards of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders.
• Implement and evaluate care plans for residents’ wellness and comfort.
• Direct CNAs to ensure resident care is performed safely and per policy.
• Rounding with CNAs to ensure readiness and smooth shift transitions.
• Complete admissions, pain evaluations, and required documentation.
• Advocate for residents to remain comfortable and pain-free.
• Notify physicians and families of significant health changes.
• Assist with light housekeeping or maintenance to keep a clean, safe environment.
• Coach team members and provide feedback respectfully.
• Maintain consistent attendance and professional demeanor.
