Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown, OH seeks a Team Leader/Charge Nurse to provide clinical leadership in the Nursing Department, ensure quality, proactive, coordinated patient care, and oversee daily unit operations. The role develops and coordinates activities to improve patient outcomes, collaborates with the nurse manager, and guides staff with staffing, admissions, and discharge planning.

Ohio RN license required; BSN preferred or to be obtained within 3 years; BLS, ACLS and PALs as required by unit

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred or obtain within 3 years of employment.
• BLS.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely admissions and rounding with physicians to meet milestones.
• Collaborates with Case Managers, Social Workers and Staff Nurses on discharge needs.
• Models clinical excellence and maintains staffing within budgeted guidelines.
• Participates in orientation, competencies, and ongoing staff education.
• Performs chart audits and coordinates with other departments to ensure care.
• Facilitates daily shift huddles and manages overtime and supplies.
