Overland Park Regional Medical Center invites applications for an RN Surgical First Assist. The RNFA works under the surgeon, provides nursing care, and aims to stay current with new practices through ongoing education.

Applicants should have CNOR, RN licensure, and a nursing diploma; multiple surgical specialties are eligible for first-assist duties in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Cardio, and more. This role supplements the existing OR RN team.

Qualifications

• CNOR certification required for perioperative nursing.
• RN licensure and diploma required.
• State nursing practice standards followed at OP Regional.
• BCLS certification to ensure patient safety.
• Experience in perioperative or surgical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care under supervisor.
• Serve as Surgical First Assistant for the surgeon.
• Maintain certification and stay current on practice standards.
• Perform in the first scrub and assistant role across several specialties.
