Job summary

Physicians Care Surgical Hospital in Royersford, PA seeks an experienced RN First Assistant to support the surgeon and maintain aseptic technique in the operating room. You will assist with instrumentation, patient positioning, draping, and intraoperative medication administration while prioritizing patient safety and quality care.

The role requires active PA RN licensure, CNOR/ RNFA preparation, ACLS/PALS, and at least two years in the OR.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
• Current certifications in ACLS & PALS.
• Documentation of completion of RNFA education program.
• CNOR certification is required.
• Two years of operating room experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs within the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania.
• Practices according to institutional policies and standards of care.
• Functions independently of the scrub nurse under surgeon direction.
• Maintains patient safety and advocates for patients and family.
• Assists with instrumentation, positioning, draping, and exposure of the surgical site.
• Assists with intraoperative medications and anesthesia-related duties as directed.
• Maintains asepsis and corrects breaks in technique as needed.
• Transferring patients to PACU and communicating post-op needs.
