Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to support surgeons during operations and provide safe perioperative care for surgical patients. You will help prepare patients and instruments, maintain a sterile environment, and assist with wound closure and tissue handling throughout the perioperative process.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license in Wisconsin, and RNFA training or equivalent experience; BLS is required with ACLS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant (RNFA) program preferred/required.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Previous perioperative or surgical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing direct operative support.
• Prepare patients, surgical instruments, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow surgical safety and infection prevention standards.
• Assist with wound closure, hemostasis, tissue handling, and other surgical tasks within scope.
• Monitor patient condition and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams.
• Complete accurate documentation and support safe patient care throughout the perioperative process.
