Job summary
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse Surgical First Assistant to support the OR team. You will operate under the direct supervision of the surgeon and pursue ongoing certification, staying current with evolving perioperative practices.
The role spans multiple specialties, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, plastics, gynecology, ENT and general surgery, and emphasizes patient safety and adherence to nursing standards.
Qualifications
- CNOR certification required.
- RN licensed and registered to practice nursing.
- Nursing diploma or equivalent (RN Diploma / Vocational School).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide patient care under the direction of the Director or Manager.
- Deliver nursing care per hospital policies and state acts and ANA standards.
- perform as Surgical First Assistant under surgeon supervision; maintain certification and stay current with practices.
- Work in multiple specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular, Plastic and Reconstructive, Gynecology, ENT, and General Surgery.
