Job summary

The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) is hiring a Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee nursing care for veteran residents in a Saint Augustine facility. The role requires RN licensure in Florida, BLS/CPR, supervisory experience, and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
• Must possess a valid BLS/CPR certification.
• Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Three (3) years’ nursing in long-term health care environment.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass Level II background check and drug test.
• Experience in staff development / in-service training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality professional care to veteran residents per agency SOP and Nurse Practice Act.
• Supervise nursing staff on assigned shift; ensure staffing meets care needs.
• Make rounds, observe residents, and ensure nursing care standards are met.
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll; address staff performance per policy.
• Review documentation and ensure care plans meet regulatory requirements.
• Assist with emergency measures and maintain safe environment for residents.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
