Job summary

Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a Registered Nurse at Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans' Nursing Home in Saint Augustine, FL. The role entails delivering professional nursing care, administering medications, and supervising care teams in a state veterans’ facility.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
Must possess a valid BLS/CPR certification.
Must be able and willing to work on a schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

Provide quality professional nursing care to veteran residents and ensure health, safety, and security in accordance with SOPs and Nurse Practice Act.
Administer medications and treatments per MD order; document needs and responses.
Monitor residents and provide interventions; supervise SLPN, SCNA and other staff as assigned.
Assist in care planning and discharge planning; coordinate with therapy and other departments.
Maintain nursing records; communicate observations to physicians and nursing leadership.
Participate in team conferences and implement individualized care plans.
