Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines and uphold high-quality care for residents.

Responsibilities include planning and documenting care, supervising day-to-day nursing activities, coordinating with physicians, and participating in care conferences.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN or LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Current CPR certification or obtain within two weeks of employment.
• Extensive knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Interest or experience in elderly care.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to interact tactfully with patients, families, staff and the public.
• Able to lead and supervise others.
• Personable, enthusiastic and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
• Ensure care is delivered in accordance with federal, state and local standards and facility policies.
• Plan, document and direct care for each customer and assess care plans.
• Supervise and train nursing staff to promote quality care and compliance.
• Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Attend care conferences and communicate updates to families and teams.
• Maintain a warm, compassionate environment and professionalism in all interactions.
• Complete required assessments during admission, transfer and discharge.
• Handle medication administration and treatment requests as ordered by physicians.
