Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care and supervise day-to-day nursing activities. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and policies while maintaining high-quality care for residents.

Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, coordinating care plans, administering medications, and ensuring proper charting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Interest or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, families, visitors, and staff.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise nursing care for the unit.
• Ensure nursing procedures follow established policies and standards.
• Supervise and instruct nursing staff to promote knowledge.
• Ensure adherence to department policies and dress code.
• Prepare care plans identifying customer problems/needs.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns to Administration.
• Chart and document care and patient responses clearly.
• Complete admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Coordinate diagnostics and therapies as ordered by the physician.
• Maintain a warm, caring atmosphere throughout the department.
• Attend continuing education and review equipment and supplies needs.
