Job summary

Avalon Rehab and Care Center is seeking an experienced RN to lead our overnight nursing team on the 11 PM–7 AM shift in Wayne, NJ. As RN Supervisor you’ll provide clinical guidance and ensure safe, compassionate care for residents throughout the night.

The ideal candidate holds a New Jersey RN license and has prior supervision or charge nurse experience in skilled nursing or rehab settings, with strong assessment, communication, and decision‑making skills.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Prior nursing supervision/charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing/long-term care/rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing staff during the overnight shift.
• Provide clinical guidance to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Monitor resident care and ensure nursing services meet standards.
• Respond to changes in resident condition and coordinate interventions.
• Communicate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and resident assessments.
• Ensure medications, treatments, and documentation are accurate.
• Promote compliance with policies, regulations, and quality standards.
• Serve as a visible nursing leader for the overnight team.
• Foster a positive, respectful, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do as RN Supervisor

• Supervise and support nursing staff during the overnight shift

• Provide clinical guidance to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs

What We're Looking For

• Current New Jersey RN license in good standing

• Prior nursing experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a similar setting preferred

• Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions

• Compassionate approach to resident care

• Strong organizational and documentation skills
