Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s values to support an excellent patient experience and clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other management team members.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support efforts to improve engagement through initiatives like employee rounding and hourly rounds.
  • Provide recommendations for interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Implement courses of action including training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, managing labor according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
  • Support inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications needed:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN required within 1 year; Magnet/Pathways hospitals require BSN at hire.
  • Specialty certification required within 1 year.
  • Charge nurse course completion within one year.
  • Leadership training and activity in professional organizations are highly preferred.

Two (2) years of clinical practice in the unit's specialty and leadership/management experience are preferred.
