Stony Brook Medicine is seeking an RN Supervisor (Clinician) to lead a unit on a shift, supervise nursing staff, and provide direct patient care as needed. The role reports to the Nurse Manager and requires strong clinical leadership and supervision capabilities.

Applicants must have at least 2 years of post-licensure acute care experience, with a preference for specialization experience. A NY RN license, BCLS, and NLN-accredited nursing education are required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred,

Qualifications

• Experience: At least two (2) years post-licensure acute care experience; two (2) years in the area of specialization preferred.
• Education: NLN accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred; BCLS certification required.
• License: Current New York State RN license.

Responsabilités

• Assumes Charge RN role on unit; supervise nursing staff and provide feedback.
• Deliver nursing care to all assigned patients; ensure adherence to physician orders.
• Develops initial nursing assessment and care plan within eight hours of admission; reassess every 24 hours.
• Assigns daily patient care tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders; documents patient education.
• Preceptor role in orientation; document competencies for new staff.
