Stony Brook Medicine seeks an RN Supervisor (Clinician) to lead a unit and provide direct patient care on a shift basis. The role includes supervising nursing staff, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan, and ensuring care delivery aligns with physician orders and standards.

The supervisor will document patient education, mentor staff, and maintain quality of care while managing assignments and ensuring timely evaluations and competencies for team members.

Formación

• Two years post-licensure acute care experience required
• ACLS, strong IV skills; surgical/procedural experience preferred
• BCLS certification required; unit-specific specialty certification preferred

Responsabilidades

• Assumes Charge RN role on unit and supervises nursing staff on shift
• Delivers nursing care and supervises the care plan for assigned patients
• Develops initial nursing assessment and interdisciplinary plan within 8 hours of admission
• Reviews and revises care plans at least every 24 hours
• Prepares daily patient care assignments based on patient needs and staff capabilities
• Administers medications and treatments per physicians' orders
• Provides patient/family education and documents teaching outcomes
• Renders direct patient care as a role model and resource for staff
• Monitors nursing care quality and documentation of the care process
• Completes yearly evaluations and competencies with nurse manager
